Additional Notes and Awesome Music Archive

since SLotWL4, all of the albums on my bandcamp are coupled with a recommended album.

here’s an archive of these, including the accompanying text.

World Land 4 :: Game Genie

(I forgot the original description, sorry.) Basically, both albums cover a broad range of types of chiptunes…and they’re fun. yep.

An Open Letter to Awesome Musicians :: The Next Step

It isn’t anywhere near as crazy as the songs from my Open Letter, but the sample chopping is done RIGHT. Listen carefully and take notes.

SMK: EDM Circuit (and HD RMX EP) :: LEVEL MUSIC 8

Besides inspiring EDM Circuit, Maxo’s produced tons of amazingly epic (and funky) SNES-style tunes. I recommend ALL OF THE ALBUMS on this site, but here’s a favorite of mine. (track 3 is 2smooth)

REJECTED FROM UKF!!! :: Star

It’s not quite as HI-NRG as “REJECTED FROM UKF!!!”, but it’s filled with a similar (sizable) amount of VERY GOOD chops. Compare track 2 from both albums.

Accrued Pony Music :: Soft Spectrum

I’ve been super inattentive with pony-related albums recently. So I’ve no idea what to recommend here. So here’s the last rad album I remember being released that has ponies on it and is super chill.

My Experience Collection :: Sunday

This and My Experience Collection cover a surprising range of emotions and styles, but mostly stay within chillout territory. It’s not the best connection, but I cant think of a better album to rec.

Melosylexic Wares :: A Liar and a Thief

Unlike Melosylexic Wares, this album keeps all feet firmly in bigbeat and funk territory, but it’s an amazingly fun album that I’d happily place alongside my own.

3sコ-polytope[EP] :: Diddy Kong Racing: Bootleg Circuit

filter! house! This EP is a fun listen AND is super dancable. It samples from a N64-era game instead of the 70s-era disco used in 3sコ-polytope[EP], to a wonderful effect.

[I’ll add on to this post as I push new albums. link in my sidebar.]
